Reporting Safety or Quality Issues

In September 2011 the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (VATVCBHCS) achieved accredited status after its first survey by the Joint Commission for health care quality and safety in ambulatory care, behavioral health care and home care.  Additionally, in July 2012 the Ambulatory Surgery Unit at the VA Health Care (HCC) at Harlingen received accrediation status as well.

In August of 2012 our Homeless Program was assessed by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and received accreditation.

In May 2012 the Laboratory services at all of our sites were Re-Inspected by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and successfully maintained their accreditation.
